First Machine Readable ICAO & ILO Project

Hon’ble Minister for Port & Shipping Mr. Shahjahan Khan, MP today inaugurated the first-ever Machine Readable ICAO & ILO compliant ID Card Project of Bangladesh. The Project has been implemented by Totaltel. Henceforth Bangladesh Seafarers will have the honour of possessing internationally recognized and verifiable ID Card. Major components of the project originate from Germany and USA. The identification is done by TenPrint AFIS 1:N searching method of Dermalog, Germany. The ID card has three physical security implementation and Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and 2D Barcode with biometric features.


Top DAC- Totaltel Open Platform Data Acquisition, Processing Software

Totaltel unveiled TopDAC - its latest universal and open platform software for data acquisition, different tiers of data processing and output. Totaltel, as per international practice, used Iterative Enhancement Lifecycle Model for this software development and used both Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Extreme Programming reference models based on the context of applicable projects. The prototype components are designed and programmed with flexibility so that the structure can be reused in any real project.

Executive Summary Presentation on Chittagong SCADA Project

Totaltel organized a three day Executive Summary Presentation on Chittagong SCADA Project which was held in Dhaka and Chittagong from 13 December 2011 to 15 December 2011. Mr. Lester Abbey, Managing Director of Abbey Systems Limited, Wellington, New Zealand explained the Design Process of Chittagong SCADA Project and the benefits of ASL's SCADA system.

The presentation was divided in to two parts. A day long presentation was held at the Conference Room of BPDB, WAPDA Building (1st Floor), Dhaka on Monday, December 13, 2010. And a two day long presentation was held at Restaurant Ambrosia, Chittagong on December 14 and December 15, 2010. BPDB high officials attended the presentation.


Contract for Greater Chittagong SCADA Project of Bangladesh Power Development Board
October 25, 2010

Totaltel secured a US$4.94 million contract for Chittagong SCADA of Bangladesh Power Development Board. The project is financed by Kuwait Fund. The scope of the project includes:

  • Remote Control of feeder of 34 Substations by RTU’s
  • Unified Communication System of CISCO
  • Data Radio Network for SCADA
  • Remote Metering Network of 570 intelligent meters
  • Data Centre and System Control Centre
  • Information exchange system with NLDC

Totaltel shall implement the project within 18 months by teaming with New Zealand company Abbey Systems Limited (ASL).
